Insight Protection Services (IPS) Replaces Plaza Security Patrol

Sugar Hill, GA, Sept. 14, 2021 – Beginning Wednesday, September 15th, Insight Protection Services (IPS) will serve as the city’s public safety patrol, replacing Plaza Security. During this transition, off-duty Gwinnett County police officers will continue to make downtown foot patrols during evenings and vehicle patrols after midnight.

“Sugar Hill strives daily to improve public safety and emergency operations which support the overall vision of the city,” said City Manager Paul Radford.  “Engaging Insight Protection Services to work with our newly created Public Safety Department enhances our abilities to patrol our neighborhoods, growing park system, the new Sugar Hill Greenway and all of our diverse and active downtown assets with the goal of keeping Sugar Hill a safe place to live, work and play.”

IPS’s Car telephone number is: 470-838-2992.  Citizens will be able to call and talk directly to the IPS security officer while they are on duty.

If a resident needs immediate assistance, such as an emergency, please call 911 for the Gwinnett Police Department.  The Gwinnett Police Department NON-EMERGENCY number is 770-513-5700.

As IPS mobilizes and begins their new duties, the city will share images of their vehicles so the community can easily identify them.  Sugar Hill thanks Plaza Security for their years of service to the community and wishes them well.
