Notes and Quotes-8/3/2020 (Special Monday Funday Edition)
-As a reminder, the E Center Gym is open from 7:00 am to 9:00 pm on Monday through Saturday, and 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Sunday.
- Leaf and Limb Chipping Operations Updates
-Chipping operations will begin every other week service starting on August 3rd. August chipping will take place during the weeks of 8/3, 8/17, and 8/31.
-Limbs should be stacked neatly at the curb, or edge of pavement in right-of-way, before 7:00 am Monday morning for Monday through Friday pick-up.
-No more than one (1) pile per household.
-The pile should be no longer than 6 feet in length, 4 feet in height, and 4 feet in width.
-No trash, dirt, or stumps will be picked up. These items cannot be processed through the chipper.
-No limbs cut by a tree service or landscape companies will be picked up. They must be removed by the company.
-Bagged yard debris collection is the day before your regular garbage day.
-Paper lawn bags and trash bags are accepted, Sugar Hill pre-printed bags are not required.
-Bags should not exceed 50 pounds in weight.
-Do not place trash, dirt, sand, gravel, or stumps in bags.
**All schedules are subject to change due to unforeseen circumstances, events, or emergencies. Changes will be communicated to the public via social media channels, email notification, and on the city website.

- The Bowl Hosts Back 2 School Jamboree
-On Friday, July 31st The Bowl was home to the Here 2 Help Inc.’s Back 2 School Jamboree from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Social distancing was observed. All volunteers were required to wear masks and gloves as well as have their temperature taken upon arrival at The Bowl. This event focused on packing bookbags with supplies for over 1000 children in need. There was also a panel discussion on social injustice, racism, and policing to kick-off the event.
- Art/History Room Buildout
-The bid for the art/history room buildout will open next Thursday, August 6th at 4:00 pm.
-As a reminder, millage rate public hearings will be held as follows:
- August 3rd at 8:00 am.
- August 3rd at 6:30 pm.
- August 10th at 7:30 pm.

-The Name the Ducks campaign will wrap up voting on Wednesday, August 5th at 5:00 pm. The highly anticipated duck names will be announced by Mayor Steve Edwards on August 7th, via a Facebook and Instagram Live event. An additional surprise will be unveiled during the live streamed event. We cannot wait to welcome our new, big, happy duck family to downtown!
- Broadstone Welcomes First Residents
-The Broadstone at Sugar Hill welcomed their very first residents last week and has seen a steady influx of interested prospective residents!
-The swings at the Town Square located next to Broadstone were scheduled for installation Friday, but looks like it was delayed.
- Splash Pad Maintenance on Monday 8/3
-Minor surface maintenance on the caulk joints is scheduled for Monday. We will be closing the facility for as little time as it takes, but may require 48-hours to complete the work.
