Small Business Saturday Contest

Thanksgiving has a different meaning to everyone who celebrates it. For some, the holiday is about football, for others the priority is spending time with family. But for a few people, Thanksgiving is a transition day into the holiday season and they’re making a wish list and checking it twice.

After Thanksgiving we’re overwhelmed with thousands of promotions and deals from large brands, we end up overlooking the small businesses right in our own neighborhood. So, skip out on Black Friday and Cyber Monday this year and shop Small Business Saturday, the first Saturday after Thanksgiving.

The City of Sugar Hill is a proud Neighborhood Champion. We invite you to shop small and shop local in Sugar Hill this holiday season for all the items on your wish list. Whether you purchase a new sweater for a friend from Perazim or stop for a coffee at Rushing Trading Company after a day full of shopping, every purchase impacts the city, your neighborhood and you.

According to the American Express Shop Small Impact survey, more than half (56%) of small businesses surveyed agree that this year’s Small Business Saturday is more critical than ever for their business and 78% say holiday sales will impact their ability to keep their doors open in 2022.

What exactly is Small Business Saturday?

Small Business Saturday is an annual holiday that celebrates small businesses and encourages consumers to shop locally at the start of the holiday shopping season.
