ARTS COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES
TUESDAY, AUGUST 20, 2019
ART GALLERY, 6:00 P.M.

Members in attendance were chair Kerry Murphy, vice chair Donna McKinney, Drew Dylan, Marc Cohen, Terence Mulligan, Joyce Cutchins and Tiffany Cole. Kristina Jaunais, Cole Mirenda, Joel Hoffman, Avery Simmons, Ansley Radosta, Barry Palmer, Craig Tilley, Marlena Trant, and Chandra Brandel

CALL TO ORDER 6:01 PM

APPROVAL OF AGENDA – Motion by Drew Dylan, second by Terrence Mulligan, All in Favor

APPROVAL OF MINUTES – Arts Commission Meeting July 16, 2019 – Motion by Donna McKinney, Second by Drew Dylan, All in Favor

1. NEW BUSINESS
2. Cole Mirenda
   1. Cole Mirenda came and presented ideas for a large scale art display sculpture as an Eagle Scout project. The Commission offered its support and agreed to continue communication as the project progressed.
3. SUGAR RUSH
   1. Supply List – covered as each task was discussed.
   2. Doodle Wall – Drew Dylan
      1. Will coordinate with Kristina and Tiffany. North Gwinnett High School will also participate. Advanced students will be provided brushes, canvas, and paint.

• Tiny Gallery and Create Station – Donna McKinney and Craig Tilley
  1. Donna will provide a material list and build. Looking for volunteers to paint.  Marlena Trant offered to help.
  2. Will come up with a concept and submit for approval and provide items required for budget.

1. Selfie Wall – Chandra Brendel
   1. Barry Palmer has offered to build this. Must be mobile.  Cost is $1251
   2. Motion to direct Barry to get engineers approval on frameby Drew Dylan, Second by Donna McKinney, All in Favor
2. Juried Art Show – Nicole Klein and Joyce Cutchins
   1. Kerry will send ballot slips for printing and cutting
   2. Letters sent
   3. Who will be the juror?
3. Poster Contest – Kerry Murphy and Marc Cohen
   1. Will be active 9/15

• Art Scavenger Hunt – Kristina Jaunais and Tiffany Cole
  1. Provided Canvases to Kristina and Tiffany
  2. Nicole will provide labels and bags at next meeting
• Craig Tilley Vine Contribution – Craig Tilley
  1. Craig Tilley will make a scavenger hunt leading up to or out of the FLOW SPACE. Will give away 800 free cards!
     1. Will invoice AC for cost of cards
  2. DISCUSSION
     1. Ansley Radosta introduced! Will be over AC.
     2. Art-O-Mat – sold over 100 works of art so far. Sold out of 9 artists
     3. Artist of the Month Date Change – September 20th
     4. Sugar Hill welcome baskets
     5. Need to build out Monthly Shows into next year
        1. Tabled for next meeting.
