APPROVAL OF MINUTES – Arts Commission Meeting February 9, 2016 and March 8, 2016. Motion to approve by Victoria Gonzalez, 2nd by Terry Mulligan, all in favor.
OLD BUSINESS
a. Membership – Proposals to fill vacant post, elections
a. John Lane with Artios Academy was recommended
b. No action was taken on expired officer positions.
b. Kiwanis Recap
a. Kiwanis Art Show was successful with 50 more pieces than 2015. Five pieces will be going to the state show.
c. Sugar Rush
a. Suggested method for the 2016 Sugar Rush event was given out. Members and guests have one week to get edits to Megan and out to the public.
d. Follow up on tasks from March 8th meeting
NEW BUSINESS
a. Downtown Development Authority presentation
a. Brandon Hembree gave an overview of the DDA’s vision on what public art in downtown is possible for 2016. Nicole Klein gave recap of the RFP put together. A board to review applicants will be put together. Members and guests have one week to review and get back to Nicole if they would like to be on the board.
b. Breakaway Session – Defining the future of the arts
