ARTS COMMISSION MEETING UNOFFICIAL MINUES

THURSDAY, APRIL 27, 2017

ART GALLERY, 6:00 P.M.

NO CALL TO ORDER, APPROVAL OF AGENDA, OR APPROVAL OF MINUTES DUE TO NO QUORUM.

DISCUSSION ONLY

1. Epicenter Construction Fence Update
   1. Remove Theme Criteria, Re-draft Application, and Re-promote
2. Piano
   1. No progress. Requesting approval to purchase sander pads and receive reimbursement.  Approximately $15
3. Artist of the Month
   1. Will have several shows coming up.
      1. NGAA SHOW CONFIRMED May 16, 2017 through September 26, 2017
         1. Will need assistance hanging work and prepping gallery for this
      2. Annandale
      3. Looking into show with Brenau University of high caliber works
      4. Small works show for the holidays?
      5. Will reach out to interested Artist of the Month Applicants

1. Sugar Rush
   1. Let’s get aggressive with advertising!
      1. Please approve for Kerry to post on Zapp – Under $100
      2. Will look into submitting into international art magazine
   2. Marc will email North Gwinnett High School
   3. Nicole will email Georgia State, North Gwinnett Arts Association, Brenau, and Lanier H.S.
   4. Kerry will email Tannery Row
   5. Ask Varessa to promote on Facebook
2. Thursdays at the Hill
   1. The Arts Commission NEEDS a presence at all Thursdays!
      1. One person with chalk art and one person as a docent in the gallery
         1. This means EVERYONE must volunteer to do two Thurdays. Please sign up.
      2. Need to approve funding for banner directing to art gallery
         1. Approximately $30
