The City of Sugar Hill is pleased to offer community members the opportunity to memorialize their loved ones who have served the nation through a military branch. Residents and those with connections to Sugar Hill can personalize a piece of the Veterans Memorial with an engraved brick to be set into the Sugar Hill Veterans Memorial Plaza. City of Sugar Hill to be completed in time for Veterans Day, 2024. Limited spaces are available.

The Sugar Hill Veterans Memorial Plaza is the city’s way of honoring the brave men and women who have given so much for their country. From all of us at the City of Sugar Hill thank you, your service member, and loved ones for serving our nation. Located across from City Hall at the intersection of W. Broad Street and Church Street, the Memorial Plaza includes granite panels for five service branches of the military connected by metal artwork of stars and stripes inspired by the American flag, a water feature, an obelisk, an eagle statue, and an eternal flame to honor the lives of those lost in service.

Where are the funds from my payment being allocated?

The majority of your payment goes towards the cost of the brick engraving.

What information can I include in the engraving?

There are three lines and each line has specifies what information can be included.

- Line 1: Name (optional rank if room for characters allows)
- Line 2: Branch of Service
- Line 3: Veterans Years of Service or Tour of Duty

When will orders for veterans’ memorial brick open?

The form is open throughout the year. So that bricks are engraved in time for either Memorial Day of Veterans Day, the order(s) must be received according to deadlines which will be updated on the website. If the deadline is missed, the brick will be engraved and placed for the next following holiday.

When will I be able to see my brick in the memorial?

Orders are filled twice a year based off national holidays. Depending on when your order was place, you will see your brick by Memorial Day or Veterans Day. Go to the order form for more details.

Do I have to complete anything after my payment goes through?

Yes, we will reach out to you via the email you provided on the form. A proof will be sent at the end of each order period and you will have a three-day window to confirm the information is displayed correctly.
