The City of Sugar Hill has announced the formation of the Theo Hutchings Taskforce on Building an Inclusive Environment for Children with Diverse Abilities.

Believing that every child is important and deserves the chance to grow and succeed, the taskforce is focused on creating spaces and experiences that include children of all abilities. By using universal design principles, the taskforce aims to build environments that are open, safe, and welcoming for every child, no matter their age, ability, or background.

This effort brings together parents of children with special needs, teachers, school staff, city parks and recreation staff, and community members. Together, they will look for ways to improve access, include sensory-friendly options, and build a community where all children are included.

Who can serve on the Task Force:

If you are a parent of a child with special needs, an educator, support specialist, or a community advocate, consider volunteering to become a member of the taskforce.
