City of Sugar Hill Announces Opening of Fishing Access at Ridge Lake Park
Sugar Hill, GA – May 1, 2025 – The City of Sugar Hill is excited to announce that fishing access at Ridge Lake Park will officially open to the public on Thursday, May 1, 2025.
Located at 5494 Cumming Highway, Ridge Lake Park spans 22 acres and will now offer daily fishing access from 7 a.m. until dusk.
To help maintain a healthy aquatic environment, fishing will be catch-and-release only for the remainder of 2025. Informational signage will be posted around the lake to educate and remind visitors about proper fish handling and conservation practices.
Ridge Lake Park officially opened to the public in November 2023 and has continued to grow with the addition of walking trails, a disc golf course, a picnic pavilion, a dog park, and restroom facilities.
Phase 2 of the park’s development is ongoing and includes the future installation of a dock and gazebo, enhancing the park’s amenities for outdoor recreation and community enjoyment.
“We are excited to provide opportunities for families to enjoy fishing together at Ridge Lake Park in Sugar Hill,” said Mayor Brandon Hembree. “We appreciate everyone’s help in protecting the fish population and maintaining a healthy environment that the entire community can enjoy.”
