ARTS COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES

TUESDAY, JANUARY 15, 2019

Members in attendance were Chair John Lane, Vice Chair Kerry Murphy, Terence Mulligan, Donna McKinney, Guests Chandra Brandel, Drew Dylan, Kristina Jaunais, Tiffany Cole, and Dave Metrio

APPROVAL OF AGENDA Motion by Kerry Murphy, Second by Donna McDaniel, All in Favor

APPROVAL OF MINUTES – Arts Commission Meeting November 13, 2018 – Motion by Donna McKinney, Second by Kerry Murphy, All in Favor

NEW BUSINESS

  1. Finalize Artist of the Month Calendar for all of 2019 – Shows discussed and finalized into 2020, with exception of end of year show.
    1. Doodle Wall Show – Will Discuss at a Later Date
  2. Renew posts, discuss filling empty post, reassign chair
    1. Drew Dylan was nominated to fill post one with a motion from Terence Mulligan, Second by Kerry Murphy, All in Favor.
      1. Chandra Brandel and Tiffany Cole expressed interest in filling future chairs
    2. John Lane and Terence Mulligan both agreed that they would stay on the Commission and their posts renewed through 2020. Joyce Cutchins will confirm her interest to stay on via email due to her absence.
    3. Motion to appoint Kerry Murphy as Chair for 2019 by Donna McKinney, Second by Terence Mulligan, All in Favor

DISCUSSION

  1. Greg Mike artwork update – artwork has been installed and plaque placed alongside it. Lighting options are being explored.
  2. Future Art for ECenter – It was agreed that the ECenter will need artwork in the future, but confirmed that the Eagle Theatre was more pressing at this time. Acquiring pedestals to accommodate sculpture in the Eagle, having a student artist spotlight in either space, and a year round space for the schools to feature their artwork was discussed.
  3. The New Gallery space was discussed and Nicole will send the tentative floor plan to Arts Commission.
