Jenn Thatcher

Jenn and her husband, Bill, have lived in the Sugar Hill neighborhood of Arbor Clos with their three children (Neely, Emma Kate, and Will) and their three rescue dogs (Duncan, Tuck, and Banjo) since December 2013. Jenn grew up in rural Statesboro, GA working and playing on her grandparents’ farms. It was from her farmer grandfathers that she learned the importance of understanding our history, conserving our resources, and preserving the legacy of her family’s deep roots in Bulloch County. She attended Georgia Southern University where she was an active member of Phi Mu Fraternity while she worked to pay her way through college. She graduated in 1991 with a B.S. in Health Science. Professionally, she’s worked more than 25 years in the telecommunications industry in various sales, marketing, and operational roles. These roles provided her with the people, leadership, and business acumen skills that have served her well during her time on Council. Jenn’s passion for the City is evident by her focus on balancing the City’s growth without losing the charm that drew her family here, attracting and retaining businesses that enhance the lives of residents, and creating a community that feels small but affords residents big city amenities. She continues to focus on activating our greenspace while protecting our natural assets like Lake Lanier and the Chattahoochee River. 

In addition to her role on City Council, Jenn is a board member of the Lanier Athletic Association and her HOA. She and her family are active members of Gwinnett Church where she leads a team of volunteers.
