Ready to hit the court and meet new people? The E Center is now accepting registrations for its 35+ Basketball League. Gather your team and register by July 30 to secure your spot. Space is limited, and teams will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.

Team Registration

  • Team entry fee: $500
  • Payment secures your team’s spot in the league
  • Registration deadline: July 30
  • All team fees and completed rosters must be submitted by the deadline

Player Eligibility

  • Players must be 35 years of age or older
  • All players must be listed on the official team roster
  • All players must have an active E Center account
  • Maximum of 12 players per roster

League Information

  • Maximum of 8 teams
  • 9-week regular season followed by playoffs
  • All 8 teams qualify for the playoffs
  • Playoffs will be a single-elimination tournament
  • Opening night: Thursday, August 20

Player Eligibility

  • All players must be at least 35 years of age.
  • Players may only be listed on one team roster.
  • Current professional athletes are not eligible to participate.
  • New players may be added to a roster through the team’s fourth scheduled game.
  • Each team must submit an official roster to the league coordinator before its first game. Players are not eligible to participate until the roster has been submitted.
  • Teams are limited to a maximum of 12 players.

Conduct and Sportsmanship

  • No smoking, chewing gum, food, or beverages are permitted in the gym. Water is allowed.
  • Profanity, unsportsmanlike conduct, verbal abuse, or physical abuse will not be tolerated and may result in suspension and game forfeiture.
  • Referees and City staff have the authority to require any player or spectator to leave the facility. Failure to comply may result in suspension and game forfeiture.
  • Any player who makes physical contact with a referee, player, league official, or City staff member in anger, or threatens bodily harm, will receive a minimum one-year suspension and may be permanently banned from City of Sugar Hill leagues.
  • Any player ejected for unsportsmanlike or disruptive behavior will be suspended for the remainder of the season.
  • Players receiving a technical foul must sit out for the remainder of that half.
  • City of Sugar Hill staff reserve the right to suspend any player for unsportsmanlike conduct at any time during league play.
  • A referee may declare a forfeit if a player, team member, or bench personnel fails to comply with a technical foul penalty.
  • Any player receiving two technical fouls in a game will be ejected from both the game and the facility.

Game Rules

  • No jewelry may be worn during games.
  • Teams will be granted a 10-minute grace period at the start of each game.
  • Games may begin once a team has at least three players present. A fourth and fifth player may join the game upon arrival.
  • Teams must wear matching jerseys with permanent numbers. Players without a matching jersey and number are not eligible to participate.
  • Each player must have an active E Center account that matches the name listed on the official roster.
  • Teams must submit a lineup card to the scorer’s table before each game.
  • Games will consist of two 20-minute running halves.
  • The clock will stop during the final two minutes of each half.
  • A one-and-one free throw situation begins after a team’s seventh team foul.
  • Two free throws will be awarded after a team’s tenth team foul.
  • Technical and flagrant fouls will result in two free throws.

Player Eligibility Protests

  • To protest an opposing player’s eligibility, the team captain must call a timeout and notify the referee while the player in question is actively participating in the game.
  • A $100 protest fee must be submitted to City staff at the time of the protest.
  • The player being challenged must provide proof of an active E Center account matching the name listed on the official team roster.
  • If the protest is upheld, the $100 fee will be refunded.
  • If the protest is denied, the $100 fee will be forfeited.
