Project Updates, Public Works |

E Center.  Red Clay Interactive (RCI), a local marketing firm, is at the finish line for their new offices in suites 209 and 211 at the E Center.  They have their certificate of occupancy and are gearing up to move in and get up and running in Sugar Hill.  Installation of a new epoxy floor coating for the common areas of the entire building is at the ¾ mark with another two stairwells and the gym lobby to complete.  The work is being scheduled during pandemic-related closures and off hours as much as possible.  The wall base and edge work remain in most of the hallways and another clearcoat required in a few locations.

Veterans Memorial Relocation.  Punch list work is expected to wrap-up this week on this project as the site is fast approaching the Memorial Day ceremonies on the 25th.  The project construction fence has been removed as of last week, final adjustments are being made with the fountain/pump/lights, and training on the control systems is being scheduled. Sign work is going to continue for a few more weeks as we wait on a couple of replacement items.   The sculpture at the west end of the project (left water feature pool in the aerial below) will be unveiled at the Memorial Day ceremony coming up.

Families of veterans may wish to remember, celebrate and honor their loved ones by purchasing a commemorative, stamped paver which will be installed in the plaza.  Information about the opportunity will be released on our website and social media platforms soon.

2019 Bowl Improvements.  The entire project is substantially complete.  We are still coordinating the relandscaping of the area to the south of the building across the sidewalk.

Sugar Hill Greenway.  Phase 1B of the greenway is making progress with an 1,100 long foot segment on Whitehead being completed this week.  The plans for the balance of Phase 1 is currently advertised for bids.  This will complete the connection from downtown south to the county parks along Peachtree Industrial and over to Whitehead Road.  This project is funded through a combination of city and county SPLOST funds by way of an intergovernmental agreement.
